Connecting a Laptop to a ModemMillie 2.0

Documenting the steps for reaching your modem admin screens through your laptop using an ethernet connection when on-site.

Updated this week

You will need:

· A computer with a LAN/Ethernet port.

You MAY need:
A USB to Ethernet Adapter. How can I tell if I need one? If your laptop has this type of port, you do not need the adapter.

If it only has this type of port, you will need an adapter that plugs into this, and the other end looks like the image above.

The adapter will look like this.

NOTE: If you attempt to connect to the modem using the "logging in" steps described below and it will not connect to the modem's login screen, you may need to set your computer IP to 192.168.50.10. Follow these instructions to make that change, only if necessary.

If it's Windows 10 or 11:

  1. Start → Settings → Network & Internet → Ethernet (or Wi-Fi if wireless).

  2. Click on the active connection.

  3. Scroll down → IP Settings → Edit.

  4. Choose Manual → IPv4 → On.

  5. Enter:

    • IP address: Something valid like 192.168.1.50 (or whatever your modem/router uses)

    • Subnet mask: Usually 255.255.255.0

    • Gateway: Your modem/router IP, like 192.168.1.1

    • DNS: 8.8.8.8 (Google DNS) or same as Gateway

Save. Done.

Physical setup

  1. Make sure that the modem is powered on.

  2. Connect the modem to a PC or laptop using the ethernet ports and a LAN cable.

Logging in

  1. In your web browser, type 192.168.50.1 and hit enter.

  2. You should see the Teltonika login screen.

    1. For the Username and Password, call 888-455-6641

After logging in to your modem, proceed with the task at hand.
