Do not use the modems public IP address to connect to the controller, the firewall policies will not permit access using this method. CT Vista+ must be used for controller access. APS reps can confirm controller connectivity via InControl2 if needed.
Locally Troubleshooting
Check Power / Cycle Power on CONTROLLER
Check Ethernet card inside Controller is “blinking”
Ensure Fluent is enabled
Try another Ethernet Cable in same port
Then try ethernet connection directly on Router port (Do not use WAN port).
Try connecting laptop to Router port directly (192.168.50.1:8080)
If laptop cannot connect to router, Router is bad, and modem needs replaced
Wi-Fi Connection Issue
Wi-Fi Connection Issue
Ensure modem setting are:
If you received modem after September 1, 2025, modems have 8 ports defined:
195.168.50.5,6,7,8 = Ethernet connections
192.168.50.9,10,11,12 = for Wi-Fi connections
If modem received modem prior to September 1, 2205, modems need to have additional ports defined for Wi-Fi connections.
Use 192.168.50.9,10,11,12 = for Wi-Fi connections
Can contact APS OR Equipment Engineering Group to have modem config updated.
Multiple Modems
Multiple Modems
If you have multiple modems in the same area reach out to APS Modems Support for configuration. Unique SSIDs need to be established to avoid conflicts in the local area.
Suggestion: Label SSID associated with local area of the plant to help identify coverage area. Make sure SSIDs match on both controller and Modem.
Suggestion: Use the same passcodes for all SSIDs associated with vendor.
