Workflow: Modems with No Connection

Updated over 2 weeks ago

There are modems on the IC2 platform which have never connected/online since inception. There are a couple different possibilities for this:

  1. Modem is offline

  2. SIM is deactivated

  3. Modem does not have InControl Enabled

  4. Modem does not have host name added: portal.mycloudrouter.com

Because these devices can be intermittently connecting, periodically we test the devices by performing a PING test.

If device can be PINGED and user can login:

  1. Verify Modem Sn to ensure IP hasn't changed

  2. Enable InControl

  3. Set host string to portal.mycloudrouter.com

If device can be PINGED and user CANNOT login:

  1. Check with ChemTreat to see if modem is listed in CTVista (support@ctvistaplus.com or (267) 237-1169 [Monday – Friday 9 am – 6 pm ET])

    1. If not in CTVista send note to Julie and see if account is still active (Provide Sales Order and PO#)

If device CANNOT be Pinged at all:

  1. Send to Geof and see if he can ping from within the ChemTreat network.

  2. Add a NOTE to the device stating last attempted PING date.

At some point a decision needs to be made on whether these No Connect Devices should remain on IC2 or should be cancelled.
