Tools Required:
A screwdriver may be required for mounting the L bracket.
Step 1: Remove the old antenna
Unscrew the 4G antenna located on the right side of the enclosure. This antenna is marked with a green dot on the antenna and next to the socket. Use knurled surface to twist
Ensure you DO NOT unscrew the Wi-Fi antenna at the top of the enclosure. These are marked with a red dot on the antenna and next to the socket. The new cable will not screw into this socket and may cause damage to the socket or the adapter if attempted.
Step 2: Screw on the cable from HGAP in place of the removed antenna.
Step 3: Run the cable to where you are going to mount the HGAP antenna.
If possible, run the cable on an out of the way path to avoid accidental damage to the cable. If you must run the cable on the ground, it’s recommended to use cable guards if the area sees foot traffic.
Step 4: Determine the best position for the antenna.
It should be above the roofline if the nearest tower is on the opposite side of the building structure or if there are other structures (Metal) between the antenna and the nearest tower.
If you are unsure of tower placement, call us with the physical address and we will use online tools to find them in relation to the facility and building.
Step 5: Mount the L bracket at the desired location of the antenna.
Using a screwdriver, mount the L bracket to a flat, solid surface.
Ensure the "puke" is vertical to the L bracket.
Final Check:
Ensure the cable is tightly screwed into the 4G antenna socket on the enclosure.
Ensure that the position of the new antenna is ideal for the best signal.
The L bracket is securely mounted, and the "puke" is vertical to the bracket.
